Extracurricular Programs:

Cross-Country Running:   Our season concluded with a 1.5k race on Hardy's Arterial. Congratulations to all runners on a great season.

Basketball: . Any student in grades 2 to 6 can also come during the scheduled morning sports slot on Thursdays to practice their skills. Afterschool programs are slated for the fall. Stay tuned for updates.

Juggling:  On Wednesday mornings from 8:20am to 8:45am students can come to the gym to get extra practice on their juggling skills. Students can earn 100 bonus points for their house team by demonstrating efficient juggling. See Mr. Strickland for details.

Wrestling: Coming soon

House System: the house system was started in the 2007-2008 school year. It is comprised of 4 teams, with every student and staff member participating on a team. special events are held throughout the year for students and staff to enjoy active living opportunities while having friendly competition with peers. At the end of the school year, points are tallied to determine the overall winners.

Volleyball: Every Tuesday morning during morning sports, students are invited to the gymnasium to practice their volleyball skills.

Strength Training and Conditioning: On Wednesday mornings in morning sports, students get the opportunity to jog and practice their fitness testing, as well as use the resistance bands to improve their strength.

Snowshoeing: In January 2008, with the financial support of the Western Regional Wellness Coalition, we were able to purchase a set of hand-made snowshoes for our Physical Education program. The snowshoes were made by a local craftsman Mr. Harold Bartlett, who was very supportive to the program. Students are now taking part in a snowshoe program throughout the winter months when the weather allows.

Speed Stacking:  Students can learn and practice their skills in this new and exciting sport on Wednesday mornings in the morning sports program.

Floor Hockey: The floor hockey program is slated to begin early in the new year.

Wrestling: The wrestling program will be starting later in the Fall.

Morning Sports: Every morning from 8:20am to 8:45am students are welcome to the gym to take part in a variety of fitness activities. Students must be at the school by 8:15am to go upstairs to change into their indoor footwear. The schedule is as follows:

Mon. and Fri. - dodgeball  ; Tues. - Volleyball and mini-hockey; Weds. - speedstacking, skipping, juggling, soccer; Thurs.- Basketball.
